Enthusiastic wedding planner

Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the internet. I love meeting new people and learning their stories…

So, welcome to the party!

Here are a few fun facts about me!

In my free time…

I can frequently be found cooking super involved menus and drinking delicious wines, salsa dancing or reading crime thrillers and adventure fiction, watering my many plants or just taking some time on my yoga mat.

It’s me, my partner and our four furry girls.

No, the bed is not big enough for all of us… but the dogs insist on trying!

When not at home with the girls I love to travel, and Archie and I are often away on city break adventures. I thoroughly enjoy playing tour guide when we are away and will research the history, the food, the places we should visit, and the areas we should walk through. Pretty sure Archie digs every single one of my ‘fun facts’!

I am a serial over-cooker.

An intimate dinner for two is absolutely an option, but there WILL be leftovers for at least one more night.

Entertaining a house-full of friends is one of my favourite things. Closely followed by rum punch, or spaghetti bolognese.

People say I’m an enthusiastic person.

Someone who is reliable and easy to talk to, listens well and takes on board the wants and needs of my clients. I strive to be efficient with my time and professional in the delivery of good news and bad.

Fun loving and down to earth, I’m real and to the point when needed, a solid shoulder to lean on through the lows and always around to celebrate the highs!

PROBLEM SOLVER, TENSION DIFFUSER AND ALL AROUND WEDDING ENTHUSIAST

  • I’ve been working as an assistant wedding photographer for 4 years, but it wasn’t originally the plan. In fact, I have two science degrees and have worked in a lab for the last 10 years.

But, at every wedding I shot, I would step in and crisis manage if I thought something was going to affect the couple’s enjoyment. Not only because I wanted to make sure they looked good in their photos, but also because it was so important to me that their day go exactly as they planned, and I love the adrenalin rush of solving a problem on the fly.

Planning and logistics are me. Give me a list and I am in my happy place. And being able to help a couple create an amazing celebration, using the skills and knowledge I’ve gained over the years, is the perfect place for me to be.

  • Easy answer - where ever you need me.

I started working for myself so I had the ability to take my laptop and work from anywhere in the world that has wifi. Living in the actual centre of the UK does nothing for my love of the sun, sand and sea!

However, it does put me in the perfect position to, very easily, get anywhere in the country for your celebrations.

Equally, with East Midlands Airport only a 7min drive away, and my parents around the corner from Gatwick, hopping on a plane is just as accessible.

  • A wedding that is being planned by you both. Where the focus is on what you enjoy most and on creating memories for you and the people you are sharing the experience with.

A wedding where the budget is being spent on a few high quality things, not lots of bits you don’t care about.

When it comes to styling, I want to collaborate with you and come up with ideas you would want to recreate at home. At the end of the day, it’s you that is hosting the event. the space should feel like you and tell your story!

  • Honestly, this is a really hard question to answer. I thought my favourite part was just after the ceremony, if you have one, because the atmosphere changes. It goes from anticipation to celebration.

But then I thought about dinner, and the conversations had by you and by the guests, and the laughter and the bubbling noise of people having fun, and I love that too! I always recommend my couples take a step back and just soak it in for a few moments. It really is special.

But then what about in the morning before the festivities start? Or at the end of the day when you (and definitely I) crash in to bed all warm and happy (and probably tipsy).

Really, I just love people watching. So maybe my favourite part is just that. Not any one moment, but just watching the people.
